The Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club was established in 1953 to promote and advance the interests of purebred dogs on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Virginia and Delaware. We hope to be able to provide you with enough information on the purebred dog of your choice so that you will be an informed consumer prior to buying a puppy or adult. Your puppy’s purchase price may be a smidgen of what you spend over its lifetime. Think ahead to 10-12 years of veterinary bills and the importance of choosing a puppy or adult whose ancestors have been screened for common health issues which have a genetic basis.
AKC registration simply means the sire and dam of your dog are the same breed. It does not guarantee health, temperament, structural soundness or breeding quality.
The best source of a healthy, well-socialized puppy or adult is a conscientious breeder with a long-term commitment to the breed and a reputation to uphold. The Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club will be glad to provide you with information so that you can make an informed choice for your family.
In assisting you with Breeder Referral, the Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club takes no responsibility for the promises or guarantees that a buyer and seller may agree upon and makes no warranty or guarantee as to the health, quality, parentage or value of any puppy or dog. The providing of breeder’s names for referral does not constitute the Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club’s endorsement or recommendation. It is the responsibility of potential buyers and sellers to ask questions and decide for themselves if they wish to do business with one another.
We wish you every success in finding a wonderful, healthy canine addition to your home.
